The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
The Department of Epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health is recruiting a full-time program coordinator to join Dr. Zeki Al Hazzouri's research team on multiple ongoing projects focused on cognitive aging, ADRD, and social determinants of health.
The program coordinator will work closely with Dr. Zeki Al Hazzouri on managing her grant and project portfolio. They will assist with coordinating study activities ranging from scientific tasks (e.g. background research, data analyses, editing/contributing to manuscripts) to logistical tasks (e.g. Human Subjects approval, expense reporting, hiring, capacity building coordination, contracts) and help to oversee and bridge the teams independent work and progress.
The program coordinator should have experience working across tasks types, different populations, and be interested and motivated to making an impact in Dr. Zeki Al Hazzouri's lab and the larger field of research in the field of social determinants of health and cognitive outcomes. Current grant and project focuses include investigating late-life-learning, anti-poverty programs, immigration and acculturation, as well as cardiovascular determinants.
Responsibilities
Research and writing assistance with manuscript development, grant preparation, conference abstracts and other submissions - 30%
Manage compliance related to research activities, including funding agency progress reports, IRB submissions, Data Use Agreements, and other data governance - 20%
Manage administrative and communication requirements including expense reports, grant subcontracts and submissions, and hiring tasks - 25%
Contribute to a growing research agenda by helping monitor study milestones and goals, generating innovative research questions - 15%
Other duties as assigned - 5%
Minimum Qualifications
A bachelor's degree is required.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree preferred.
Experience on project coordination or management, experience with data analyses and programming languages.
Superior communication skills, superior academic writing abilities (experience with manuscript production, theses, etc.).
Other Requirements
The successful candidate must possess a high level of initiative and ability to work independently, excited to collaborate and contribute to team building. Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and prioritization/time management. Ability to manage multiple competing tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable asking questions and eager to learn.
