Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiovascular / Open Heart ICU
Location: New York, NY (10016)
Assignment Duration: 14 Weeks
Shift: Night Shift - 3 × 12.5 hours (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Hours per Week: 36
Compensation
- Local Candidates: $60-$68/hour
Weekly Range: $2,160-$2,448 - Travel Candidates: $60-$82/hour (includes stipend)
Weekly Range: $2,160-$2,952
"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join a high-acuity Cardiovascular/Open Heart Intensive Care Unit in New York, NY. This role involves providing critical care to post-open heart surgery patients and individuals undergoing advanced cardiovascular procedures in a fast-paced ICU setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive critical care to adult cardiovascular ICU patients
- Monitor hemodynamics, cardiac output, and post-operative recovery
- Administer IV medications, fluids, and blood products per protocol
- Perform IV insertion and phlebotomy as required
- Assist with conscious sedation and provide post-procedure monitoring
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams
- Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans and post-surgical care
- Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control practices
- Active New York State RN License (Primary Source Verified)
- Minimum 2 years of critical care experience (Cardiac ICU or Surgical ICU preferred)
- Proficiency in IV insertion and phlebotomy
- Experience with conscious sedation monitoring
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
- RN degree
- Active NYS RN licensure
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
