A Better Opportunity

Better is seeking an experienced Office Manager to lead office operations and onsite workplace support across our New York, Charlotte, Detroit, Dallas, and Irvine locations. This is a full-time role based in New York City and requires working onsite five days per week. The ideal candidate is highly resourceful, reliable, and proactive, and takes pride in creating welcoming, well-run workplaces.

You will play a critical role in shaping our physical environments and employee experience - ensuring our offices are efficient, hospitable, and aligned with Better's culture and values.

Responsibilities

* Own and manage all aspects of full-time office operations across multiple Better locations, including facilities management, inventory, and day-to-day oversight of reception and concierge services

* Serve as the first point of contact for office guests, ensuring a warm and professional welcome

* Manage daily operational tasks such as mail, shipping, lunch deliveries, and culture activations

* Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, building management, and internal cross-functional partners

* Support and execute office redesigns, relocations, renovations, and other workplace projects as needed

* Maintain accurate and up-to-date workplace systems and records to track spend, space utilization, and employee engagement trends

* Ensure all office functions run smoothly and efficiently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment

* Manage and organize all Better leases, ensuring accuracy in Visual Lease and maintaining a lease payment tracker

* Field, track, and resolve all Workplace service tickets

* Oversee office supply and food ordering across all locations, consistently managing spend within budget

* Plan and execute local culture initiatives and employee experiences, including happy hours, seasonal events, and holiday celebrations

* Own the Workplace team's onboarding and offboarding processes, including badge access and workplace readiness

* Champion Better's culture, hospitality, and service standards to deliver an exceptional employee experience across all offices

Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree required

* 5+ years of experience in office management, workplace operations, or a related field

* Strong communication, organization, and time management skills

* Experience using project management tools and applying best practices

* Highly proactive and self-directed; comfortable operating without micromanagement

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills

* Proficient in Excel and workplace tracking tools

* Ability to multitask, manage competing priorities, and anticipate issues before they arise

* Demonstrates humility, accountability, and ownership

* Experience working in an agile, fast-paced environment

$75,000 - $90,000 a year
