Duties & Responsibilities

PURPOSE OF POSITION:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key leadership role within the hospital and is responsible for overseeing the financial operations. The CFO will manage the hospital's financial planning, accounting, reporting, and overall fiscal health while ensuring compliance with all regulations and maintaining a high standard of financial stewardship. This position works collaboratively with senior leadership to ensure the financial sustainability and growth of the hospital as a public acute care facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and execute the financial strategy to align with the hospital's goals and objectives, ensuring financial sustainability and operational effectiveness.

• Provide financial guidance to the CEO to support decision-making and organizational planning, especially on financial matters, including budget, grants, patient access, patient accounts, managed care, revenue initiatives, utilization management, and health information management.

• Lead the budget department in preparation of the annual budget, working closely with department heads and stakeholders to ensure alignment with organizational priorities.

• Monitor hospital performance against expense and revenue budgets, providing actionable insights to senior leadership.

• Supervise the financial operations team, including budget, grants, patient access, patient accounts, managed care, revenue initiatives, emergency department operations, peri-op services operations, utilization management, and health information management.

• Direct and mentor a high-performing finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities to ensure the team is aligned with the hospital's goals and can effectively execute on its financial strategy.

• Foster a culture of collaboration and transparency within the finance team and across departments, ensuring clear communication, high levels of accountability, and alignment with organizational objectives.

• Present regular financial updates to executive leadership and stakeholders, offering insights into the hospital's financial position, risks, opportunities, and progress toward financial goals.

• Work closely with other senior leaders, including the Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Medical Officer (CMO), and Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), to integrate financial considerations into clinical, operational, and strategic decision-making.

• Partner with department heads to develop financial budgets, provide financial insights, and monitor financial performance, helping departments manage resources efficiently and stay within budget.

• Performs other duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
1. Master's degree from an accredited college or university with a specialization in Hospital Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, Hospital Health Care, Medical Administration or a related program, and six (6) years of full-time experience in high-level responsible business administration, administration, public administration or an equivalent area, or as an Assistant…
