I have a unique opportunity for one of our top tier investment banks in Midtown. This role will have high visibility and is reporting to the Director.

It is 3 days onsite in Midtown and 2 days remote.


Position Summary:

The Project Manager (PM) is accountable for leading and delivering projects through all phases of the Project Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC). The PM is accountable and responsible for overall project communications, project planning, project governance, and scope, budget, issue, risk and escalation management.
The Project Manager will coordinate and manage all aspects of select projects, from the firm's Information Technology project portfolio –IT Security projects, new office buildouts, summer training program, data back-up, building power downs, coordination end-user training, communications, and coordination across various Management and Operations departments and banking groups in the firm. The Project Manager will maintain a master project plan, ensure the project remains on schedule, anticipate and alert management to any potential delays, issues, or dependencies with the project.

In addition, they will work with bankers and staff throughout the deployment process to confirm adoption of the new systems and business processes, that appropriate training is provided, and to gather and relay feedback to the project team.
The role requires excellent organizational and communications skills, and experience with enterprise system deployments. The Project Manager must also have a service-oriented mentality, proactively identify problems, and see them through to resolution, and establish good working relationships with the project team.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provides overall project leadership to the cross-functional team – ensuring clarity re: project objectives, approach and plan. Promoting a collaborative team environment. Proactively addressing resource and team challenges. Holding team members accountable for completing tasks and deliverables on schedule, on scope and with high quality.
  • Accountable for the successful delivery of the project and its objectives-- ensuring the project team is producing deliverables on schedule, budget, scope and quality.
  • Identifies and manages stakeholders – ensuring that all stakeholders are identified and engaged; that their points of view and expectations are understood and managed; and that they are kept informed throughout the life cycle of the project.
  • Accountable for project governance –ensuring timely resolution to areas requiring remediation; scheduling and facilitating Monthly Key Stakeholder Updates; and timely and quality completion of regular status reporting.
  • Provide resource planning and set expectations for individuals and the project team.
  • Ensure proper communications among project stakeholders, management, vendors, and others as appropriate. Hold regular team meetings to gather project updates.
  • Provide management dashboards and briefings to facilitate senior sponsor meetings.
  • Oversee the development of training and communications plans for the rollout.
  • Work closely with bankers and other end users throughout the deployment to ensure go-live readiness, adoption, and customer satisfaction.
  • Accountable for creating, actively communicating, and managing the project schedule – working closely with the other project leads (i.e., BA, SA, QA, Operations) to ensure detailed project tasks are defined and tracked within the overall project schedule.
  • Defines and manages the project budget – ensuring funding approval; tracking and managing actual spend against budget; and forecasting through to project completion.
  • Leads scope management and change control – driving scope definition; identifying and tracking changes to scope; presenting scope changes through project level governance committees and Executive Leadership, as appropriate.
  • Provides timely, and concise communications to the project team, Key Stakeholders, Business and Functional Leadership and the Innovation and Project Steering Committee, as appropriate, and consistently utilizing standardized status reporting throughout the project life cycle.

  • Education and Experience:
    • 5-10 years of project management experience.
    • Strong verbal and writing skills.
    • Successful candidates will be self-motivated with a strong desire to contribute to the success of the department and company.
    • Established track record of project management leadership and strategic planning experience.
