January is hiring an Associate General Counsel - Product & Regulatory in New York City to help scale its legal function and guide the company through complex regulatory, product, and commercial challenges. Reporting to the CAO & General Counsel, this role will be a strategic partner across Product, Engineering, Compliance, Ops, and Sales, ensuring legal solutions accelerate rather than slow growth.

You'll advise on regulatory frameworks that shape January's products and expansion, counsel Product and Engineering teams on new features and business lines, and review, draft, and negotiate key sales and vendor contracts. You'll also design scalable legal processes, support litigation management, and help build out a world-class Legal team to match January's rapid growth.

The ideal candidate has 5-8 years of legal experience in high-growth, regulated industries, with proven expertise partnering closely with product teams. Strong generalist skills across product counseling, regulatory advice, and commercial contracting are essential, along with the ability to thrive in ambiguity and align legal guidance with business objectives.
