Job Description & How to Apply Below
Thread AI is focused on building an AI-native workflow orchestration engine and is looking for dedicated individuals to join its growing team. Our goal is to make infrastructure simple for enterprises and public sector agencies seeking to get the most from AI and AI Agents.
Headquartered in New York, our growing team is a group of AI, product, and engineering experts, who have a track record of creating and executing against complex workflows and infrastructure.
Design & Product Culture
We're a small and committed technical team that oversees engineering, research, design, product, and operations. We believe that a small dedicated team with a flat structure and collaborative culture can move faster and build better products than large hierarchical organizations. As a foundational member of the design team, you will have a huge part in shaping our product direction and design culture.
About The Role
We are looking for a senior Applied AI Designer to supercharge the design of our cutting-edge AI Workflow Orchestration platform while shaping the future of human expert and AI agent collaboration! You will be responsible for creating innovative, intuitive, and user-centered experiences that make complex and powerful AI workflows simple and accessible to profiles across the technical spectrum. You will work closely with our engineering and product teams to translate user needs and technical capabilities into a seamless and powerful product.
What We're Looking For
- 6+ years of experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related field, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work on complex, data-rich applications or enterprise software
- Expertise in modern design and prototyping tools, especially Figma. You should be comfortable creating everything from low-fidelity wireframes to high-fidelity, interactive prototypes
- Proven ability to lead the end-to-end design process, from user research and concept exploration to detailed visual design and collaboration with engineers for implementation
- A deep understanding of user-centered design principles and a passion for solving complex user problems in ambiguous, early-stage product environments
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design rationale and work effectively with cross-functional teams including product managers and engineers.
- Experience designing and contributing to scalable design systems
- Experience designing developer-facing products, tools, APIs, or other technical platforms
- A strong interest in and understanding of artificial intelligence, machine learning, and large language models (LLMs)
- Experience working in a fast-paced technology startup environment
- Experience designing AI or MLOps systems
Don't meet every single requirement? If you're excited about this role and the company but your past experience doesn't align with every qualification, we still encourage you to apply anyway - we'd love to get to know you and see if there's a place for you at Thread!
Compensation
$135,000 - $200,000 + Equity
Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or national or U.S. lawful, permanent resident.
This is a full-time, in-person position based at our New York City office.
