A financial firm is looking for an Intranet Specialist/Platform Expert to join their team in New York, NY.

Pay: $50-75/hr

Duration: ~6 months

Must be local to NYC/No relocation

No c2c/third parties

• Collaborate with Tech to build the structure and functionality of the new intranet using selected tools/platforms
• Implement and configure folders, pages, and navigation for optimal usability
• Ensure compatibility across devices and platforms
• Partner with HR and internal stakeholders to understand the types of content needed and the best ways to present it
• Provide guidance on UX/UI, information architecture, and overall look and feel
• Recommend best practices for content categorization, naming conventions, and user flows
• Create and manage a project plan with clear milestones and timelines
• Facilitate workshops or feedback sessions with internal users to gather insights and test prototypes
• Maintain clear communication with stakeholders throughout the build process
• Provide clear documentation of structure, processes, and recommendations for future maintenance
• Train internal teams on how to update and manage content post-launch

• Primary languages and Tech Stack: HTML, CSS, and PHP are the main three, but open to other programming languages
• Proven experience designing and/or building intranet systems or employee portals
• Strong understanding of user experience (UX) and information architecture principles
• Comfortable working across Tech and HR teams; excellent stakeholder management
• Familiarity with common intranet platforms (e.g., SharePoint, Confluence, Notion, or similar)
• Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
• Experience in content strategy or internal communications a plus
