Overview
Full Stack Web and Mobile Application Developer position at New York City College of Technology (City Tech) of the City University of New York (CUNY). The Office of Computing and Information Services (CIS) is responsible for campus technology services, network infrastructure, security compliance, service desk support, and data reporting. The selected candidate will design, develop, and maintain user-friendly, accessible, and responsive websites and applications.
This is a full-time position at the rank of IT Senior Associate. If the selected candidate does not hold permanency in the IT Senior Associate title, the position will be temporary until civil service lists are established for exams #2085 and #2086. Time spent as a temporary employee may be credited toward the 12-month probationary period if the candidate is placed on a list within 60 days of its establishment.
Responsibilities- Participate in the planning, analysis, design, implementation, and maintenance of web and mobile applications, including City Tech-specific systems.
- Ensure websites and web applications are responsive, accessible, and optimized for performance across browsers and devices.
- Develop and maintain .NET-based web applications using ASP.NET Core, MVC, and Blazor.
- Write and maintain clean front-end code with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap.
- Convert standard web pages into responsive designs across platforms and browsers.
- Implement and support Single Sign-On (SSO) authentication mechanisms (SAML 2.0, LDAP, OAuth).
- Debug, test, and enhance existing websites and web applications.
- Maintain and update current applications and systems, including third-party (vendor-provided) platforms.
- Provide ongoing technical support for in-house and third-party software solutions.
- Ensure all digital solutions comply with WCAG 2.2 Level AA and ADA 508 accessibility standards.
- Collaborate with campus stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver appropriate technical solutions.
- Perform system administration tasks, including monitoring performance and change control processes.
- Design, develop, and maintain UX/UI for City Tech digital platforms and manage website content via a CMS.
- Identify, flag, and refresh outdated or obsolete web content; enforce City Tech branding and style guidelines.
- Design, implement, and maintain relational databases to support .NET applications; write and optimize SQL queries and procedures; perform performance tuning; ensure data integrity and security; integrate databases with enterprise systems and APIs.
- High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent
- Ten years of full-time work experience in a computer/technology-related position, or an Associate’s degree with eight years of experience, or a Bachelor’s degree with six years of experience
- Demonstrated English language proficiency
- Motor Vehicle Driver’s license, valid in New York State, may be required for some positions
- Experience with .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, MVC, and Blazor
- Strong knowledge of MSSQL, MySQL, Oracle, Visual Studio, JavaScript, Angular, AJAX, XML, HTML5, CSS3
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms (e.g., Service Now) and LMS (e.g., Blackboard, Brightspace, Degree Works, EAB Navigate)
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for web design
- UI/UX design skills including wire framing, prototyping, and usability testing
- Ability to thoroughly test and debug application code across platforms
Compensation: $104,942
