Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) | Manhattan, NY | Part-Time School Day or After School

Overview/Impact

Are you a skilled and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist eager to help students in the Manhattan unlock their communication potential? Knowledge Road is seeking a part-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team and offer vital support to students in NYC Department of Education (DOE) schools. With a major city-wide shortage of related service providers, your skills are urgently needed to help students in overcoming communication barriers and achieving academic success.

This is an opportunity to make a lasting impact, engaging with students with diverse communication needs in school-based settings.

As an SLP with Knowledge Road, you will have the autonomy to deliver individualized therapy using evidence-based practices, working closely with school teams and families to promote student communication development.

Responsibilities

As a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with Knowledge Road, you will:

  • Provide direct, high-quality speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings, as mandated by their Individualized Education Service Programs/Individualized Education Programs (IESP/IEP).

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose and evaluate speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders.

  • Create and implement innovative and effective treatment plans tailored to the unique needs of each student.

  • Collaborate closely with parents, teachers, and other school professionals to establish a holistic and supportive learning environment.

  • Maintain meticulous and timely documentation of all services, progress, and outcomes in accordance with DOE and Knowledge Road standards.

  • Participate actively in IESP/IEP meetings, offering expert insights and recommendations to advance student progress.

Qualifications:

  • Current valid NYS license in Speech-Language Pathology.

  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a school-based setting.

  • Proficiency with electronic documentation and teletherapy platforms.

  • NYC DOE fingerprinting and vendor status required or willingness to obtain prior to start.

Schedule & Location

This is a part-time, school-day or after-school position in Manhattan with a schedule that follows the NYC DOE calendar. You will offer services on-site at one or more schools in Manhattan, with assignments based on student needs. Hours/week are driven by IESP/IEP mandates; caseload may vary by assignment Typically ~5-15 hours/week depending on placements.

Compensation

This 1099 contractor role offers a tiered hourly rate depending on group size, from $75-$180/hr
.
