JCCA is seeking Therapist to join our Preventive Services Program
, offering targeted intervention to stabilize and strengthen families in crisis when their children are coping with mental illness and stress. The Social Workers will focus on the Child-Parent Psychotherapy (CPP) model, which is an evidence-based therapeutic intervention method designed to assist families with children aged 0-5, who have experienced at least one traumatic event, resulting in mental health, attachment and/or behavioral problems.
The goal of the CPP therapeutic method is to strengthen child-parent attachment, parental empathy, and resilience in families, helping to break cycles of abuse and neglect, promoting long-term stability.
- Provide individual, group and family counseling for clients/families in compliance with regulations of NYS Department of Social Services and NYC Administration for Children’s Services.
- Conduct regular home visits to clients.
- Conduct assessments of referred families according to established program procedure.
- Maintain documentation of all client/family/collateral contacts according to the regulations of NYS Department of Social Services and NYC Administration for Children’s Services.
- Maintain correspondence for clients as required by the Family Assessment Service Plan (FASP).
- Provide all case management services called for in Family Assessment Service Plan (FASP).
- Attend clinical case conferences and staff meetings according to program procedures.
- Attend inter-agency meetings (including client-specific meetings at schools, hospitals, ACS, etc.).
- Participate in planning and implementation of client group activities, etc.
- Program phone coverage during evening and on emergency call list.
- 35-hours per week, Monday-Friday – should be flexible to work between the hours of 9am and 8pm and occasional weekends depending on client needs.
- Master’s in Social Work (MSW), Mental Health Counseling (MHC) or Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) from an accredited school.
- Knowledge of individual, family and group therapeutic modalities.
- Knowledge of needs of, and identification of, abused and neglected children.
- Knowledge of child development and individual and family functioning.
- Demonstrated ability to work with hard to reach or resistant individuals and families.
- Excellent writing skills to fulfill state and city regulations for documentation.
- Must demonstrate the ability to collaborate with client and teams that are culturally and professionally diverse.
- Fluency in Spanish and/or Creole French is HIGHLY preferred.
Hourly Rate Range: $32 - $33 per hour ($58,300 - $60,600 annually) - differential offered for credentials and Spanish/Creole language skills.
