OverviewThe Credentialed Psychologist will provide evaluation, assessment, testing, and ongoing treatment of patients with psychiatric conditions, including various locations, including: emergency room, inpatient psychiatry unit, consultation, and ambulatory settings. They maintain documentation in compliance with the Office of Mental Health, OASAS and Joint Commission guidelines.
Responsibilities- Complete evaluations, assessments, and testing, and provide diagnosis and case conceptualizations for patients.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary treatment planning, where required.
- Complete documentation of clinical visits within 72 hours of the appointment.
- Provide ongoing treatment of patients, including psychological testing, make referrals for psychopharmacological treatment, and request additional specialty consultation when appropriate - including comorbid medical conditions.
- Function independently but utilize supervision and consultation.
- Maintain practice consistent with the American Psychological Association's Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct.
- Participate in departmental programs related to quality improvement, staff meetings, continuing education, risk management, diversity and inclusion.
- Demonstrate knowledge, skills, and abilities related to the identification, reporting and appropriate interventions for survivors of individual and family violence, elder abuse and child abuse and neglect.
- Conduct crisis assessments and intervenes appropriately and safely based on patient’s risk to self, others or risk of self-neglect or other dangerousness.
- Psychologists require a License or Limited Permit issued by the New York State Education Department and must maintain continuous registration.
- PhD, PsyD, or EdD degree from an accredited University required.
- Completion of Postdoctoral training in Clinical or Health Service Psychology or related field.
- NYS license in Clinical Psychology.
- Must be knowledgeable about Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR), including (when applicable to role) disorders found in children and adolescents (ages 4 and up), as well as adults.
- Excellent oral/written communication skills.
- Ability to operate automated office equipment and utilize PC-based software for office applications.
2 days per week the hours will be 7:00 am – 3:00 pm at 3550 Jerome Avenue and 3 days at 2058 Jerome Avenue that will be 8-hour shifts set during clinic hours of 7:00 am – 6:30 pm.
This is a 100% grant funded position.
