Overview
Title:
Psychologist 1/2 — NY HELP program.
Employer:
Office for People With Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), New York State.
- Provide professional psychological services under the supervision of a licensed psychologist or other appropriate licensed clinician.
- Develop and write behavioral/treatment plans and complete functional assessments.
- Design, develop, administer, score, and interpret psychological tests.
- Analyze behavioral data and write progress notes.
- Conduct psychological evaluations.
- Participate as a member of an interdisciplinary treatment team and attend meetings for case review.
- Participate in and lead individual, family and group counseling sessions.
- Prepare reports and maintain a wide variety of records.
- Peer review.
Minimum Qualifications for Psychologist Trainee 1:
Master s degree in psychology from an accredited institution; program prepared graduates for clinical, forensic, community mental health, or school settings and included coursework in psychological and behavioral assessment and treatment modalities; or completion of qualifying doctoral coursework with evidence of equivalency. Official transcript or coursework equivalency attestation required. For Psychologist 1 and 2: same master s degree requirement with coursework described above;
and for Psychologist 1 two years of supervised post-master s degree experience in relevant settings; for Psychologist 2 three years of supervised post-master s degree experience in relevant settings. Substitutions: doctoral degree in clinical psychology with one year of qualifying experience may substitute for both education and experience. This title is part of the NY HELPS program. Appointments may be made at Psychology Trainee levels with potential advancement to Psychologist 1 after two years of service. Salary range listed covers Trainee 1 through Psychologist
