Description:
Working on the private side, the Syndicate Operations Accounting Specialist is primarily responsible for the booking of Equity Capital Market and Debt Capital Market deal revenue and the maintaining of all associated balance sheet items, including receivables, payables and provisions, for these products within the NA region. Working in an exciting environment, directly along-side the GCM businesses, the individual will be working in a technical and specialized team supporting some of the firm s most prominent transactions.
This will include Initial Public Offerings, Secondary block transactions, Sovereign and Corporate issuance. This position involves extensive interaction with controllers, GCM and IBD Business units. The candidate would be responsible for understanding the deal s entire economic configuration, checking and reviewing fee structures detailed within the deal documentation and ultimately booking revenue. Additionally, the role involves maintaining the expenses for the entire deal pipeline including active and prelaunch deals and working with the bankers to understand the accounting treatment of these terms.
Experience:
High performing Consultant with strong growth potential with at least 1-3 years of experience in Syndicate Operations, Finance, or related Trading Operations role
- Technical understanding of Capital Markets products and business
- Foundational understanding of accounting principles
Key Responsibilities:
- Keeping record of all Capital Market deal pricings
- Daily reconciliation of balance sheets
- Dealing extensively with the bankers on the deal regarding expense finalization
- Monitor and booking of cash receivables from underwriting banks
- Coordinate out of pocket expenses with syndicate banks for deal final settlement
Skillsets:
Risk Management
- Ability to manage risk on Global Capital Markets transactions in an environment of elevated deal volumes, increased complexity and regulatory focus
- Proven SME who is technically sound and detail-oriented
- Understanding of accounting principles, specifically regarding payables and receivables
Strong Communication Skills
- Confidence to drive discussions with senior stakeholders across multiple divisions, including Global Capital Markets, Legal Compliance, Finance and Operation s management
- Ability to communicate and escalate issues across the broad cross-divisional stakeholder group
Self-starter and ability to excel in a fast-paced environment
- Establish strong working relationships with the BU
- Ability to perform multiple tasks and to meet deadlines
- Very strong organization skills
Technical Skills
- Advanced Excel skillset (pivots, macros, tables) and Word
