The Team:
S&P Global Ratings is seeking an experienced analyst to join its Structured Finance Ratings practice which provides credit ratings and opinions for securitizations backed by RMBS assets. The Associate Director is primarily responsible for analyzing transactions backed by U.S. residential mortgages. In addition, the Associate Director will be responsible for aggregating data and information to be used to present to rating committees.
The Associate Director also participates in reviewing operational capabilities of issuers and lenders, identifying market trends, and contributing to market research and commentary. In addition, the Associate Director may act as the primary analyst and is eventually an active, vocal voting member to the rating committee and prepares material for ratings publication.
Responsibilities:
As an Associate Director, you will be responsible for developing leading analytical research and ratings, meeting with issuers and investors on analytical matters, and resolving client needs. Specifically, in this role, you will:
* Manage RMBS transactions, ensuring a consistently high level of analytic quality
* Conduct detailed reviews of legal and operating documents to ensure compliance with criteria
* Demonstrate strong knowledge of ratings criteria and cash flow analysis
* Effectively communicate S&P's methodologies and procedures
* Develop and communicate S&P Global Ratings thought leadership and credit themes
* Participate and lead special projects to execute the Structured Finance business strategy
Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $120,000 to $180,000. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications. What We're Looking For:
Qualifications:
* An advanced Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, a related field or CFA preferred
* A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in the RMBS sector
* Strong proficiency with Excel, financial models and financial data
* Excellent verbal and written communications skills are required
* Ability to multi-task and manage deadlines under time pressure
* Ability to demonstrate analytical independence and objectivity
* Diligent and intellectually curious self-starter with a strong work ethic and a drive to succeed
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a collaborative team; and
* Proficiency in programming skills (VBA, R, Python) a plus
* For US candidates, this role is limited to persons with indefinite right to work in the United States.
* All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week
* We require all candidates who reach the final stage of our interview process to attend at least one in-person interview, which is ordinarily at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office. This must be completed before we can proceed to an offer.
