Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for a skilled Accounting Manager to join our team in New York, New York.

This role offers the opportunity to oversee critical financial operations for a broker dealer and related entities, reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in accounting processes and compliance, as well as the ability to collaborate with external auditors and service providers.

Responsibilities:

- Manage the accounting and compliance functions for the broker dealer and associated entities.

- Prepare and review quarterly regulatory filings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Post and review journal entries while performing variance analysis on monthly financial results.

- Ensure the accuracy of accruals, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.

- Reconcile cash accounts and manage expense allocation reviews related to shared agreements.

- Collaborate with third-party firms to streamline broker dealer operations and enhance efficiency.

- Develop monthly management financial packages, including consolidated financial statements and budget variance analyses.

- Identify areas for improvement in processes, implement internal controls, and enhance documentation of control procedures.

- Serve as the primary liaison with external auditors, tax professionals, and other service providers.

- Support special projects, such as the implementation of new accounting software, to optimize operations.

Requirements

- Accounting/Finance degree

- 6+ years' experience, with recent experience from Financial Services (Broker Dealer, Private Equity etc)

- CPA and Audit/Public Accounting foundation a plus
