OverviewCoda Search is partnering with a $50M privately held company that manages a diverse portfolio of entities and continues to expand nationwide. The organization is seeking a Controller to oversee the accounting operations across multiple subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy in consolidated reporting and providing financial leadership to support growth initiatives.
Responsibilities- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets.
- Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely consolidated financial statements.
- Prepare and maintain debt reporting packages for lenders and monitor compliance with loan covenants.
- Manage accounting for leases, including proper application of ASC 842 and tracking across entities.
- Develop and supervise the accounting team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
- Partner with leadership to prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls, processes, and system improvements.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors, coordinating audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
- Provide financial insights to ownership and executive leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and key business drivers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with experience overseeing multiple entities.
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidations, leases (ASC 842), and debt reporting.
- Experience supervising and developing staff.
- Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a dynamic, growing company environment.
- Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and external partners.
