Overview

Coda Search is partnering with a $50M privately held company that manages a diverse portfolio of entities and continues to expand nationwide. The organization is seeking a Controller to oversee the accounting operations across multiple subsidiaries, ensuring accuracy in consolidated reporting and providing financial leadership to support growth initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and fixed assets.
  • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring accurate and timely consolidated financial statements.
  • Prepare and maintain debt reporting packages for lenders and monitor compliance with loan covenants.
  • Manage accounting for leases, including proper application of ASC 842 and tracking across entities.
  • Develop and supervise the accounting team, providing mentorship and fostering a culture of accuracy and accountability.
  • Partner with leadership to prepare budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls, processes, and system improvements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for external auditors and tax advisors, coordinating audits, tax filings, and compliance reporting.
  • Provide financial insights to ownership and executive leadership, highlighting risks, opportunities, and key business drivers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with experience overseeing multiple entities.
  • Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, consolidations, leases (ASC 842), and debt reporting.
  • Experience supervising and developing staff.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented, and comfortable in a dynamic, growing company environment.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and external partners.
