General Summary

Collegiate School seeks a dedicated, dynamic, and experienced Temporary French Teacher for Grades 8-12 to join the Modern Language Department for an immediate appointment through the end of the school year. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong proficiency across all modalities of the French language speaking, listening, reading, and writing and will engage students through imaginative, flexible and student-centered pedagogy.

The ideal candidate is a collaborative and communicative educator who brings energy and presence to both the Middle and Upper School classrooms and contributes positively to the life of the School community during this interim period.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

* Teach French classes in Grades 8-12 as assigned, providing effective and professional classroom instruction.

* Deliver curriculum aligned with departmental goals and Collegiate School's mission, values, and academic standards.

* Assess student learning and provide timely, constructive feedback on assignments and assessments.

* Maintain accurate grading, records, and required documentation.

* Collaborate with Modern Language Department colleagues to ensure instructional continuity across divisions.

* Establish clear, respectful, and supportive relationships with students.

* Participate in required meetings, conferences, and school activities as appropriate during the appointment period.

* Supervise students as assigned to promote a safe and supportive learning environment.

* Follow all School policies, protocols and expectations as outlined in the employee and parent handbooks.

* Complete all required reports and responsibilities in a timely and professional manner.

Education & Experience

* Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in French, education, or a related field required.

* Master's degree preferred.

* Minimum of two years of secondary teaching experience preferred.

* Native or near-native fluency in French required.

Special Requirements

* Successful completion of all required background checks.

* Authorization to work in the United States.

Compensation

Salary Range: $75,000-$155,000 (annualized and prorated for temporary appointment)
