Position DescriptionThe Erik Jonsson School of Engineering and Computer Science at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas) invites applications for two faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in Systems Engineering (SYSE). Qualified candidates must have a strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate education, and active (or the potential to develop) externally funded research. Applicants at the Associate Professor level must demonstrate a strong track record of scholarly and professional achievements.
The appointment commences for the fall 2026 semester.
Responsibilities- Commit to undergraduate and graduate education.
- Conduct externally funded research or develop potential for such research.
- Deliver high‑quality teaching using evidence‑based practices to effectively engage students from a range of backgrounds and experiences.
- Minimum education and experience: A PhD degree or equivalent in Systems Engineering, or a discipline related to Systems Engineering (Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics). Prior to employment.
- For Associate Professors: record of accomplishments commensurate with that rank.
- Ability to work effectively in a highly collaborative, engaging, and dynamic environment comprised of individuals with a range of backgrounds, skills, and perspectives.
Education and Experience
- Teaching and research interests that span systems architecture, manufacturing, systems management, risk management, requirements engineering, and other foundational areas of industrial and systems engineering.
- Exceptional candidates with interests in modeling and simulation, robotic/mechatronic systems, control systems, systems integration, optimization, and systems design will also be considered.
