Dream is a network of seven growing PreK‑12 charter schools in East Harlem and the South Bronx that serve more than 2,500 youth annually. Responsibilities- Lead a group of up to 18–20 fourth‑ and fifth‑grade youth in daily after‑school sports practices and scrimmages.
- Submit practice plans that focus on both skill development and social‑emotional learning.
- Facilitate or co‑facilitate lessons to help youth build their social and emotional skills.
- Supervise youth during travel to scrimmages and/or practices.
- Communicate with school‑day and program staff about athletes’ progress, focusing on teamwork.
- Support program leadership and other athletics coaches with coordinating scrimmages.
- Model and encourage positive participation in all activities, focusing on team building.
- Model professionalism through consistent attendance, timeliness, and preparation.
- Supervise and manage youth during all activities using positive youth development strategies.
- Participate in professional development and tactical training, providing formal feedback and coaching.
- Strong facilitation skills of athletics or recreational programming with youth in grades 4–5.
- Experience teaching foundational physical activity and athletic skills.
- NSCA‑CPT certification preferred.
- Working toward a Bachelor of Science in Recreation or Recreational Sports Management preferred.
- Exhibits high energy, warmth, enthusiasm, and patience in working with youth.
- Demonstrated interest in assisting students develop motor skills through athletics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent time‑management skills: a self‑starter who demonstrates initiative and follow‑through.
- Experience with behavior management systems, including positive youth development, preferred.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team setting.
- A strong belief in the mission and values of Dream, including the belief that all students can succeed, and a deep desire to make a difference in the lives of our students, families, and community.

March 31, 2026 (exact end date may be earlier depending on the team’s progress in the league) - Days & hours:
Monday–Thursday, 4 pm–6 pm (DREAM full‑time staff who are coaches are expected to report to their posts at 4 pm) - Evening and weekend games

- DREAM is hiring coaches for our East Harlem Elementary School.
- East Harlem Elementary, 1991 Second Ave.
- Practices take place at the school, or in surrounding areas in East Harlem or the South Bronx.
- Game locations vary.

- DREAM offers competitive compensation. The rate for this position is $20 per hour.
