Position SummaryThe Computer Science Department at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position starting in Fall 2026. Exceptional candidates will be considered in all areas of Computer Science, but priority will be given to those that can build synergies in the area of Cybersecurity, defined broadly. We aim to hire at the rank of Assistant Professor, but exceptional candidates at higher ranks will also be considered.
EssentialFunctions
- Computer Science faculty are expected to contribute to the department’s undergraduate and graduate instructional programs, pursue external funding, and publish in top conferences and journals.
- NJIT has recently expanded its graduate programs to a satellite location in Jersey City, just across the Hudson River from the financial district of Lower Manhattan in New York City, where it serves the vast pool of working professionals in the region. The faculty may be called upon to teach at this location as needed.
- Applicants must have a Ph.D. degree by Summer 2026 in a relevant discipline, and outstanding academic credentials that demonstrate their ability to conduct independent world-class research and attract external funding.
- At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.

Salary InformationIn compliance with the NJ Pay Transparency Law, the salary range for the assistant level position is $85,000-$120,000 and the associate level position is $100,000-$120,000. NJIT considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses or other items.
