Job Description & How to Apply Below
We are fundamentally reimagining how healthcare works in the U.S. by partnering with employers to redesign healthcare benefits using clear incentives and powerful, data-driven insights. Our approach guides employees to higher-quality, lower-cost care, creating a system that works better for everyone. Patients achieve better health outcomes, employers spend healthcare dollars more effectively, and physicians are rewarded for delivering exceptional care rather than performing more procedures.
Garner is one of the fastest-growing healthcare technology companies in the country. Our products are trusted by the most sophisticated employers and providers in the industry, and we are building a team of talented, mission-driven individuals who are motivated to make a meaningful impact on healthcare at scale.
About the role:
We are seeking an exceptional Senior Product Designer to join our Search team. The Search team focuses on helping members find the best doctors in their area. In this role, you'll drive the UX behind our core user journey of searching for, evaluating, and visiting doctors, and own surfaces like search initiation, search results, doctor profile, and booking flows. In addition, you'll own UX behind our AI chatbot and help pioneer how we develop AI features at Garner.
Where you will work:
This role will be based in our New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
What you will do:
* Own the UX of Garner's search and chatbot experience, including initiating search, search results, doctor profiles, booking experiences, and chatbot workflows
* Plan and conduct UX research to build a deep empathy with our members that informs strategic planning as well as the direction of projects within your area
* Drive forward looking UX strategy and vision for the Search Area to help guide the team's direction
* Partner with product to shape strategy and scope for the area and within projects
* Partner tightly with engineering to achieve perfection in delivery of new experiences
The ideal candidate has:
* 8+ years of relevant experience shipping consumer-facing products, including mobile products on iOS and/or Android
* Proven experience driving UX strategy and vision for a team, while also delivering elegant user experiences that build toward your broader vision
* Mastery of conducting user research and leveraging your findings to impact strategy and product direction
* A strong ownership mindset; you form strong opinions from ambiguity and enjoy debating diverse perspectives to achieve the best outcome
* A highly refined aesthetic sense and a preference for simple and clean experiences; you design products that not only meet user needs, but are delightful and engaging
* Excellent communication skills - you know how to tailor your communication style between product, design, engineering stakeholders to speak the language of who you're talking to
* A humble and user-focused approach to design; you are constantly challenging your own assumptions and crave feedback through research and metrics
* The ability to deliver candid, constructive feedback to peers that helps them improve while building trust
* A desire to be a part of our mission to improve the healthcare system
* A desire to be a part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, a strong sense of individual accountability, and a commitment to authentic feedback
Technologies we use:
* Figma, Chromatic, Lottie
This is a unique opportunity to join a fast-growing company in a transformative role, helping shape the future of healthcare.
