Job Description:
We are seeking an Architect / Project Manager to join an award-winning Manhattan practice recognized for its social values-driven approach, cutting-edge sustainability, and innovative design for positive change. The firm's work focuses on decarbonization, reuse, adaptation, and resilient design, with projects that complement and improve the urban fabric.
This role will suit a senior architect with strong experience in the renovation and rehabilitation of existing buildings, particularly multi-building campuses and multi-family housing. You will lead projects from concept through construction, initially overseeing the transformation of two large, multi-building campuses currently under construction, with responsibility for client liaison, consultant coordination, and full project delivery.
The requirements of the role are:
- Professional architectural degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 10+ years of professional experience, with a focus on rehabilitation, renovation, and campus-scale updates.
- Strong project delivery background, including construction documentation and construction administration.
- Experience across interior renovations, exterior envelope restoration, and complex campus-wide upgrades; multi-family residential experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Revit (required).
- Broad knowledge of architectural practice, construction, and existing-building conditions.
- Experience with NYC Building Codes and NYC Zoning Resolution; exposure to NYCHA and HPD projects a plus.
- Experience with Historic / Landmarks Preservation Commission projects a plus.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainable, resilient design, accessibility, and multi-family housing.
- U.S. architectural registration preferred.
- LEED and/or Passive House Certification a plus.
- Strong organizational, design, communication, and client-facing skills, with the ability to manage large consultant teams and lead internal project teams.
- Excellent English language communication skills.
- Legally eligible to work in the United States, without the need for employer sponsorship.
