Senior Estimator Marine Construction

Overview

KMJ’s client is currently seeking a Senior Estimator with Marine Construction experience to join their team. Option to be based out of their NY or NJ office, the Senior Estimator will be responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of estimates for jobs to be bid on.

• Review project plans, requirements, and specifications
• Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and materials pricing
• Review and understand all bid documents and assess project risks
• Understand project logistics and project schedule
• Prepare bid packages
• Review quotes and estimates with the Operations Team
• Hold pre-construction meetings with clients, owners, suppliers, and partners
• Estimate Change Orders and claims
• Perform other related duties as needed

• 5+ years’ experience estimating heavy civil projects, Marine and Underwater Construction Project experience strongly preferred
• Bachelor s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field experience
• Advanced computer skills with estimating software – HCSS Heavy Bid
• Knowledge of construction costs and engineering principles
• Well organized, flexible, detail oriented, and able to multi-task
• Ability to prioritize workload and consistently meet deadlines
• Capability to work with other engineers and estimators and be part of a team
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and presentation skills

Compensation: $150,000-$180,000 per year
