Position Summary

The Senior Coordinator will collaborate with partners and lawyers in the Financial Institutions Practice Group to provide comprehensive business development support for all disciplines within the practice.

Working closely with the Senior Manager and Manager, the Senior Coordinator will help drive and implement various initiatives aimed at generating new business and expanding market share. This includes assisting in the creation and maintenance of new business proposals and marketing collateral, submission to legal directories, upkeep of matter experience databases, conducting competitive and market intelligence, and coordinating conferences and sponsor ships.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of pitchbooks, RFP responses, placemats, experience lists and other client/prospect marketing materials and track opportunity outcomes
  • Maintain, update and grow the suite of practice marketing materials and lawyer biographies
  • Coordinate the scheduling and submission of legal directories, awards and related industry guides (e.g., Chambers, Legal 500, IFLR)
  • Assist with identifying, planning and managing sponsor ships and practice participation in conferences and industry events
  • Coordinate with the PR & Communications and Digital Marketing teams to promote and raise the visibility of the practice and its lawyers through external communications on the Firm's website and social media
  • Process daily deals and cases (D&Cs) to ensure proper content assembly, formatting and timely submission
  • Conduct comprehensive research of the Firm's syndicated and direct lending transactions across a wide range of industries, geographies, and transaction types using a variety of internal and external databases and research platforms
  • Assist with internal practice review presentations, including year-end reviews, annual partner meetings and offsites
  • Assist with competitive and market intelligence research, used to update attorneys on peer firms and market trends and developments
  • Oversee maintenance of practice mailing lists for targeted client and prospect mailings
  • Conduct ongoing reviews of internal records to identify updates, refresh contact information, and routinely categorize newly added entities into appropriate industry lists.
Qualifications/Position Requirements
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate and engage at all organizational levels
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Proficient in critical thinking and data analysis, with the ability to research, synthesize and present complex information clearly
  • Intellectually curious, resourceful, and results-oriented, with a strong commitment to team success and a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve objectives
  • Capable of multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with shifting priorities and competing deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel
  • Marketing and business development experience in the financial institutions and financial regulatory environment is preferred
  • Experience with CRM (e.g., Inter Action), and organizational work platforms (e.g., iManage) is preferred
  • Experience with experience management software's, and financial data research platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Debtwire, KBRA DLD, LSEG Data & Analytics, Pitch Book and S&P Capital IQ) is highly desirable
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor's degree required, preferably in finance, economics or marketing
  • 1-3 years of experience in legal marketing and business development or other relevant professional services experience
Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 - $90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
