Private Family in Midtown Manhattan, NY Seeking a Part-Time Housekeeper / Household Assistant

A busy professional couple working full-time in-office on Wall Street is seeking a trustworthy, communicative, and detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper / Household Assistant to support their homes in Midtown Manhattan and Rumson, NJ. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys maintaining an already very clean home, managing light household tasks, and helping keep a running to-do list under control. The position is approximately 30 hours per week, with the potential to expand to full-time in the future as the family grows.
Position Details

• Location: Midtown Manhattan, NY (primary residence - small, 1-bedroom apartment)
• Secondary Home: Rumson, NJ (shore home - one day per week preferred)
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, approximately 8:30 AM - 2:30 PM (30 hours/week)
• Compensation: $35-$40 per hour, DOE
• Transportation: Family SUV available for use in New Jersey
• Future Growth: Role may expand to full-time in the coming years

Family Overview

The principals are a professional couple with demanding office schedules who value a well-run home and strong communication while they are away during the day. The NYC apartment is extremely well-maintained, and the workload during the week is straightforward and manageable. They have a friendly 8-year-old corgi, Winston, who will be part of the daily routine.
Responsibilities

Pet Care

• Walk the family's small dog, Monday-Friday:
  • Morning walk: approximately 8:30-9:00 AM
  • Midday walk: approximately 2:00-2:30 PM
• Occasionally provide dog sitting when the family is traveling

Housekeeping & Home Care

• Maintain cleanliness of both the NYC apartment and the Rumson, NJ home
• Laundry care, including washing, folding, ironing, and organization
• Manage dry cleaning drop-off and pick-up

Household Support

• Grocery shopping and light errands
• Prepare very healthy, simple, non-complex lunches for the workweek
• Receive deliveries and send out packages
• Supervise vendors and service providers when needed

Organization & Projects

• Ad-hoc household organization projects such as:
  • Bringing donation items to Goodwill
  • Organizing closets or laundry rooms
  • Unpacking suitcases
  • Tackling items on a running household to-do list

New Jersey Home Support

• One day per week spent at the Rumson, NJ home to:
  • Clean and organize the house
  • Prepare the home for weekend arrivals
  • Run errands locally using the family vehicle

Requirements

• Prior experience as a private housekeeper or household assistant
• Strong references
