Position: Full-Time, Live-Out, Temporary House Manager / Executive Assistant
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00/5:30 PM (no weekends required)
Salary: $50/hour, DOE (negotiable for the right candidate)
Start Date: First week of February (with training/overlap)
Duration: Approx. 18-20 weeks;
Temporary position through the beginning-middle of June

About the Principal
A highly meticulous and detail-oriented individual principal on the Upper East Side is seeking an exceptional Temporary Executive Assistant / House Manager to cover the current House Manager's maternity leave. The principal is very visual and organized and is looking for a true rockstar professional who shares the same high standards and attention to detail.
This is a full-time, on-site role for a highly detail-oriented, tech-savvy professional who excels in both household management and executive administrative support.
The successful candidate will work closely with the current House Manager for several weeks in early February to ensure a seamless transition.
Residence: Primary residence and separate studio
Household Staff: Full-time housekeeper and private chef
Position Overview
This role is heavily administrative and computer-based (approximately 90% of the day), while also overseeing the smooth daily operation of the residence and a separate studio. The ideal candidate is proactive, polished, and thrives in a structured, detail-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Administrative & Executive Support
- Create, edit, and format documents in Microsoft Word at an advanced/expert level, including documents with columns and precise formatting based on the principal's preferred font type, font size, margins, and layout.
- Download, save, organize, and edit digital content (photos, articles, online materials), cutting and pasting into clean, well-formatted documents (removing ads and unnecessary content, fitting to page, etc.).
- Prepare a highly detailed daily written report ("daily sheet") outlining completed tasks, ongoing projects, next steps, deliveries, pending items, and open issues. This is a running document, so each day there may just be updates to the existing report, while adding new items, etc.
- Handle printing, copying, scanning, and filing, as needed.
- Assist with minor computer and tech issues as they arise (major issues handled by an external consultant).
- Manage and coordinate travel arrangements as requested.
- Oversee the efficient daily operation of the household, including the primary residence and separate studio.
- Monitor staff attendance and alert the principal to absences.
- Answer phones, intercom, and the front door.
- Sort, track, and distribute mail and packages.
- Communicate new tasks and updates to household staff.
- Reconcile the chef's purchases and manage household supply ordering.
- Manage assorted online purchases for the principal.
- Research, vet, and present vendors for household projects, documenting scope, options, and recommendations in a clear, visual, and organized manner to the principal.
- At times, work with vendors selected by the principal; at other times, independently present multiple options for review.
- Occasionally supervise non-employee vendors and service providers working within the residence.

This role requires someone who takes pride in producing visually clear, well-structured work and who is comfortable tracking and documenting the details of the day.
