Accounts Payable Specialist

Kforce has a client in NYC that is seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist for a full time, onsite role.

Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support construction project teams. This role is responsible for processing invoices, managing payment workflows, and coordinating with project staff across multiple active projects. This position is fully onsite.

Responsibilities:

* Process project invoices, including AIA

* Handle construction, consultant, and overhead invoices using eBuilder, Timber scan, and accounting systems

* Verify accuracy of invoice details, pricing, quantities, and supporting documentation

* Maintain payment schedules and assist with monthly close

* Complete project accruals

* Pay online utilities and track property tax deadlines

* Confirm contracts and change orders are executed; ensure budgets are available before processing

* Track pending invoices and distribute weekly status reports to project teams

* Respond to vendor and internal payment inquiries

* Process payments via Avid Pay and Sage

* Review AP aging and support several projects simultaneously
* Bachelor's degree preferred

* At least 3 years of experience in the real estate development industry

* 3 years of experience in Accounts Payable

* Must know how to read and understand an AIA application

* Knowledge with Timerline, eBuilter, A+ (preferred)

* Experience in construction accounts payable

* Knowledge of AIA billing formats

* Familiarity with Sage 300, Timber scan, eBuilder, or similar tools

* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

* Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment

* Accounting experience a plus
