Job Title: Senior Accountant
- Construction Project Accounting
Location: Plainview, NY (On-site, 40 hours/week)
Job Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $80,000–$85,000 + Annual Bonus

Position Summary
We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant with strong construction project accounting experience. This role supports the financial management of large construction projects, including contract accounting, job cost reporting, and AP processing. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and leadership to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities of Senior Accountant

• Manage contract accounting and job cost reporting for large-scale construction projects

• Review subcontractor and equipment invoices for accuracy and contract compliance

• Prepare AP and job cost reports for leadership review

• Collaborate with Project Managers to secure invoice approvals

• Submit financial reports to municipalities through online portals and track payment statuses

• Process vendor payments, including check runs through Sage 300 (Timberline)

• Assist with union payroll reports and monthly bank reconciliations

• Match invoices to POs and packing slips for validation

• Code and enter invoices into Sage 300 (Timberline)

• Maintain Excel spreadsheets and support special projects as needed

• Respond to vendor inquiries and coordinate with internal teams

Qualifications of Senior Accountant

• 3–5 years of experience in construction accounting and job cost reporting

• Proficiency with Sage 300 (Timberline) strongly preferred

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proficiency in Excel and standard office software
