This role is hands on and execution oriented. The Accounting Manager will be responsible for cash movement, accounts payable and receivable, rent tracking, invoicing, and direct coordination with banking partners. This is not a controller or policy setting role - it is a core operational position critical to keeping the firm running smoothly.
Responsibilities
- Manage daily cash activity across multiple operating and holding accounts, including wires, ACH, and inter-account transfers
- Oversee accounts payable, including check runs, vendor payments, and invoice processing
- Track rental income, monitor receipts, and follow up on delinquencies in coordination with property management
- Prepare and send formal invoices to tenants, partners, and counter parties as required
- Maintain accurate cash balances and transaction records across all entities and properties
- Serve as primary point of contact with banking partners for account setup, documentation, and ongoing requests
- Coordinate with third-party accountants and tax preparers on month-end reporting and year-end filings
- Assist with budgeting, cash flow tracking, and ad-hoc financial reporting for ownership
- Maintain organized records, approvals, and controls related to cash and payments
- 4+ years of accounting experience, preferably within real estate, private equity, or property management
- Strong experience with cash management, AP/AR, and multi-entity accounting
- Comfortable working across multiple bank accounts, properties, and legal entities
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Professional, clear communicator - especially with banks, vendors, and internal stakeholders
- Proficient in Excel; experience with real estate accounting systems a plus (Yardi, App Folio, Quick Books, etc.)
- Self-starter who thrives in a lean, fast-moving environment
