We are a third‑party management company looking for a reliable, pro‑active Property Accountant to manage financial reporting for about 50 entities. The role involves approving AP invoices, general ledger preparation, financial and investor reporting, year‑end audit preparation, RPIE submission, property tax appeals, budget preparation, quarterly reports, and daily communication with owners and investors. The accountant will supervise a bookkeeper and ensure accurate record‑keeping.
Full Time Position
- Salary range: $68,000 – 75,000 annually
- Monday – Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
- Manage full‑cycle accounting for a real estate portfolio.
- Provide accurate, timely financial information to internal management and external investors.
- Handle all monthly, quarterly, annual, and other duties as detailed in the responsibilities.
- Prepare budgets and monthly variance analysis.
- Prepare year‑end audit packages.
- Supervise one or two bookkeepers.
- Utilize problem‑solving, decision‑making, time‑management, and effective communication.
- Monitor cash positions and anticipate future cash deficiencies.
Skills and Abilities
- Experience with BJM and Yardi.
- Affordable housing experience is a plus.
- Proficient in Excel and other Microsoft applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proactive work ethic and attention to detail.
- Polite, courteous and tactful.
- Superior customer‑service skills.
- Team‑player in a dynamic environment.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Ability to multi‑task.
- Experience in a fast‑paced environment.

- BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
- Minimum two years of real‑estate experience.
- Experience in real‑estate accounting/finance, preferably multi‑family (low income).
- Proficient in Excel, Word, Outlook.
- Strong verbal, written, interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
- Prior experience in a fast‑paced environment.
