Overview

Big Ideas is seeking positive, friendly, and motivated individuals to join our team of consulting instructors. Ideal candidates are retired or actively working professionals with at least two years of experience in the skilled trades. This is a fun and interactive way to inspire learners ages 13 to adult about the pathways available in skilled trades!

Big Ideas utilizes state-of-the-art simulators and interactive stations to bring skilled trades experiences to schools, minorities, adults, ALCs, juvenile detention centers, and more, highlighting the importance and potential of these careers.

We are looking for individuals with experience or knowledge in the skilled trades to engage with learners at events in either an hourly rotation style or open house format. Events run for four, six, or eight hours and take place across Minnesota and parts of Iowa. A pay scale is available—please contact Andrew Kish h or visit our website  for more information.

Events are scheduled based on availability, primarily on weekdays, Monday through Friday. You have the flexibility to choose events that fit your schedule through our online portal.

A four-hour initial training/interview is held in New Ulm, MN, and all participants must pass a background check before signing up for events.

  • Effective working with youth, adults, and individuals with disabilities
  • Ability to provide clear instructions and demonstrations
