OVERVIEW

We are seeking a musically skilled and relationally gifted individual to support our Contemporary Worship Director and praise teams. This role assists with rehearsal and service preparation, periodically leads worship, and helps guide the congregation in glorifying God through music. The position will also support the launch of an additional Contemporary Worship service投稿continuing its mission to Know, Love, and Follow Jesus, and to Share Him with others.

NOTE

NPPC will strongly consider candidates with more limited education and experience that is looking to develop in a worship‑leading role and is willing to commit to additional hours and training as a Contemporary Worship Intern

REPORTING/WORKING HOURS

This position reports directly to the Director, Contemporary Worship. This is a part‑time, non‑exempt, hourly position. Hourly pay is based on education and experience. This position will average 8‑10 hours total/week, with weekly Tuesday evening rehearsals and leading worship at least one Sunday per monthย์ required, as well as being available for Christmas Eve and Easter services. Opportunities for advancement in our Worship ministry are possible, but not guaranteed.

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Faith Commitment
    :
    Maintains a personal relationship with Christ and possesses a passion to honor and glorify God through worship and music, leading a congregation to do the same;
    Must adhere to the Essential Tenets of the Christian faith as outlined by our understandably ECO (Evangelical Covenant Order of Presbyterians) and demonstrates alignment with the core beliefs, Statement of Faith and lifestyle expectations of NPPC as outlined in the NPPC Statement of Faith/Lifestyle Agreement. Willing to be an active part of the NPPC church community or another Christian community, when not leading worship.
  • Education
    :
    High school graduate required. College degree preferred. Some formal music training with an understanding of music theory preferred.
  • Experience
    • Some worship team and/or worship leading experience, required.
    • Ability to read bass and treble clefs and read a chord chart.
    • Can lead singing while playing an instrument.
    • Has familiarity with microphone technique.
    • Excellent singer with ability to sing harmony with excellent pitch.
    • Has a familiarity with Christian worship music.
    • Familiarity with Planning Center, Music Stand, and Playback; or willing to be trained on these applications.
    • 4. Exceptional interpersonal skills with a strong service orientation and ability to foster positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
    • 5. Outstanding organizational skills, able to reliably complete agreed upon tasks in a timely manner.
    • 6. Adaptable and solution-oriented, with a can‑do attitude when facing unpredictable challenges, finding creative solutions to challenges.
    • 7. Reliable and consistent leader, committed to promoting clear communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
    • 8. Self‑motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively to achieve team goals.
  • POSITION REQUIREMENTS
    • Leads at least one Sunday per month and attends/runs worship rehearsal on Tuesday evening for the accompanying Sunday, as needed.
    • Assists director in choosing music for services and in rehearsal preparation.
    • Attends one‑on‑one and team trainings, as needed.
    • Willingness to collaborate with the pastoral team to align worship with teaching themes.
