Position Summary
A successful incumbent in this position will inspect all Gradall Industries parts, including manufactured parts and purchased parts, to determine if they meet quality standards.
Pay
IAM member starts at $26.23 to Top Rate of $29.77
Essential Functions- Perform complex work to very close tolerance requiring high accuracy and quality
- Responsible for setting up or checking the work of others
- Ensure flow of work is maintained in a timely manner
- Use appropriate gauging to inspect machined, welded and assembled parts
- Use shop math to determine geometric dimensions and tolerance
- Use advanced automated measuring equipment (eg coordinate measuring machines
-cmm; Faro Arm; Mahr Form; profile tester; hardness testers; surface profilometer) - Use judgement to plan and perform unusual and difficult work where only general instructions are available
- Perform an extensive and accurate layout of parts needing machined
- Build low volume parts on the layout tables for weld assembly
- Inspect preparation for paint and final paint of all parts and completed machines
- Check and inspect parts to blueprint specifications according to recognized inspection practices
- Provide support for new and less experienced employees by demonstrating the correct and safe way to perform job duties, answering job-related questions, sharing relevant knowledge, and assisting with on-the-job training as needed
- Other duties as assigned
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 1 year of applied trade training (vocational education)
- At least 1 year of working in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment
Work performed primarily in heavy manufacturing environment requiring frequent walking in and around a non-climate controlled metal manufacturing plant.
Frequent exposure to noise, dirt, dust and fumes (rarely to the point of being objectionable).
Extended periods of standing, walking and sitting may be required to meet production scheduling activities.
