Position summary

The Oral Surgeon will provide a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical services consistent with the standard of care, collaborate with restorative teams and laboratory personnel on treatment planning and execution, and maintain thorough clinical documentation and compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Compensation & benefits:

  • Work schedule:

    Standard weekday schedule with flexible hours as needed to meet patient and referral needs. On-call expectations, if any, will be defined in the employment agreement.
  • Technology:
    Access to digital workflows and collaboration tools, including CBCT imaging and intraoral scanner integrations, to support diagnosis, treatment planning, and restorative coordination.
Core Responsibilities
  • Perform a full scope of oral and maxillofacial surgical procedures within the practitioner’s scope of training and licensure, including extractions (simple and surgical), third molar surgery, implant placement and related grafting procedures, management of odontogenic infections, and treatment of facial trauma as appropriate.
  • Evaluate patients, develop and communicate comprehensive surgical treatment plans, and coordinate care with referring dentists, specialists, and laboratory personnel to integrate surgical and restorative objectives.
  • Interpret 2D and 3D imaging (including CBCT) for surgical planning and work with digital treatment workflows to optimize implant placement and prosthetic outcomes.
  • Provide or coordinate appropriate sedation and anesthesia services consistent with credentialing, training, and regulatory requirements; monitor perioperative patient care and discharge planning.
  • Maintain accurate, HIPAA-compliant clinical records and documentation in accordance with professional and regulatory standards.
  • Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality assurance protocols; participate in clinical governance and peer-review processes.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary case review, clinical education, and collaboration with laboratory staff to improve prosthetic-surgical integration and patient outcomes.
Requirements & Qualifications
  • Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of an accredited Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery residency program.
  • Active and unrestricted license to practice dentistry and oral surgery in the applicable state(s) or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Current BLS/ACLS certification and any state-required anesthesia/sedation certifications.
  • Valid DEA registration where applicable.
  • Demonstrated clinical competence in implant surgery, bone grafting, and management of surgical complications.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaboration with referring clinicians, laboratory staff, and patients.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board certification or eligibility in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.
  • Experience with digital treatment planning systems and guided-surgery workflows.
  • Prior collaboration experience with dental laboratories and restorative teams on implant- and prosthetic-driven cases.
  • Hospital privileges or experience providing care in ambulatory surgical settings.
  • Additional language proficiency relevant to the local patient population.
