Location: Historic Schoenbrunn Village, New Philadelphia, OH

Compensation: $15.00/hour

Position: Visitor Services Associate

Status: Seasonal, 30-40 hours per week

Summary

VSAs welcome visitors to the museum and perform a variety of public-facing duties including engaging with visitors; answering questions and providing information; gift shop, admissions, membership products and services sales and transactions; providing telephone coverage; and general site tasks.

Essential Functions
  • Provides impeccable physical presentation by dusting, sweeping, etc., public spaces as necessary.
  • Assists visitors in purchasing admission tickets and gift shop items.
  • Offers verbal introduction of site to visitors, explains layout and orients visitors.
  • Restocks gift shop as necessary.
  • Performs routine inspections of restrooms, doing surface cleaning and restocking materials if needed.
  • Relays information about individual visitor needs to Schoenbrunn Village interpreters as needed.
  • Provides general assistance by answering incoming telephone calls to general information line; transferring calls appropriately; fulfilling requests and orders; and may maintain and take reservations for programs.
Required Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous visitor or customer service experience helpful.
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Skill in operating computers, including web browsers and point of sales systems.
  • Good money skills required. Ability to operate a cash register, credit card machine, count money and handle sales transactions.
