Location: Historic Schoenbrunn Village, New Philadelphia, OH
Compensation: $15.00/hour
Position: Visitor Services Associate
Status: Seasonal, 30-40 hours per week
SummaryVSAs welcome visitors to the museum and perform a variety of public-facing duties including engaging with visitors; answering questions and providing information; gift shop, admissions, membership products and services sales and transactions; providing telephone coverage; and general site tasks.
Essential Functions- Provides impeccable physical presentation by dusting, sweeping, etc., public spaces as necessary.
- Assists visitors in purchasing admission tickets and gift shop items.
- Offers verbal introduction of site to visitors, explains layout and orients visitors.
- Restocks gift shop as necessary.
- Performs routine inspections of restrooms, doing surface cleaning and restocking materials if needed.
- Relays information about individual visitor needs to Schoenbrunn Village interpreters as needed.
- Provides general assistance by answering incoming telephone calls to general information line; transferring calls appropriately; fulfilling requests and orders; and may maintain and take reservations for programs.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Previous visitor or customer service experience helpful.
- Skill in operating computers, including web browsers and point of sales systems.
- Good money skills required. Ability to operate a cash register, credit card machine, count money and handle sales transactions.
- Self-directed and flexible.
- Resourcefulness and initiative.
- Problem-solving and decision-making.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Able to work independently without supervision.
- Even-tempered.
- Able to handle multiple tasks.
- Ability to work some weekends and evenings, if needed.
