Security Officer – Unarmed – Baptist – Evenings

Join Ochsner Health in this evening‑shift Security Officer role. The position ensures a courteous and professional environment for patients, guests, and employees on company premises.

High School diploma or equivalent required.

No prior experience required.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (within 30 days of hire)
• Valid driver’s license in the state of practice with a clean DMV report
• Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) (within 60 days of hire)
• International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Certification to be obtained within 90 days of promotion/hire

• Proficient with Windows‑style applications and keyboard.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, able to present information clearly and professionally.
• Understanding of company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekend, holiday, and on‑call availability.
• Capability to continuously walk all company property, including exterior and interior areas of a 11‑floor structure.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English.
• Team A Essential Personnel status, reporting for duty during a disaster.

• Enforce all company safety and security rules, regulations, and policies on company property.
• Conduct routine inspections of on‑site and off‑site locations.
• Investigate accidents and incidents, reporting all occurrences in a timely manner.
• Perform opening/lockdown of all buildings as approved by Administration.
• Participate in emergency response and related preparedness drills.
• Maintain required annual certifications and complete training requirements within required time periods.
• Operate and manage the visitor management system.
• Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, respecting privacy, introducing services, and communicating style.
• Perform other related duties as required.

Medium work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. The job requires walking, standing, and pushing/pulling in a production rate pace. Exposure to blood, bodily fluids, or hazardous medications may occur.
