OUR MISSION
Our mission is to ensure the physical and operational integrity of the regional flood risk management system in southeastern Louisiana as a defense against floods and storm surge from hurricanes. We accomplish this mission by working with local, regional, state, and federal partners to plan, design, construct, operate and maintain projects that will reduce the probability and risk of flooding for the residents and businesses within our jurisdiction.
ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position will serve as the front desk administrator for the Southeast Louisiana Flood Protection Authority - East and provide executive support to the Regional Director and other departments as needed

Three years of experience in administrative services.
EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 15 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as six months of experience.

Job Duties:
* Greets SLFPA-E visitors and guests, directs them to the appropriate staff member while providing prompt and courteous service
* Use multi-line telephone to answer and route incoming calls to the appropriate staff member with courtesy, speed, and accuracy, taking messages when necessary
• Assists during Board and Committee Meetings by receiving calls and running messages to the Board Room
* Assist with building security measures by keeping a log of visitors, issuing visitor badges, checking identification, screening Covid-19 vaccination status, and conducting temperature checks for the duration of the pandemic
* Ensure the reception area is clean and presentable at all times with proper stationery materials for use of guests
* Perform other clerical duties that include filing, photocopying and faxing
* Provides administrative support to the Regional Director and Risk and Project Management Director
* Prioritize inquiries and requests for smooth daily operations

Work Schedule:
This is a full-time position (40-hour work week); it offers a flexible work schedule.
Compensation:
The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience. Full-time employees are eligible for a compressive benefits package, including participation in the state's retirement plan, health insurance, agency-paid short-term disability coverage, paid holidays, and paid annual and sick leave.
