Substation Foreman - HV

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of substation crews.
• Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
• Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex HV system issues and provide technical guidance to the team as needed.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute project work in alignment with specifications.
• Conduct regular inspections and assessments of substation operations.
• Provide training and guidance to team members on equipment and safety procedures.
• Promote a strong safety culture on-site, enforcing adherence to safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and other regulatory standards.
• Ensure all team members understand and follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures for HV systems.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to address site hazards and safe work practices.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to plan and execute substation projects.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and inventory.
• Respond to emergency situations and coordinate repair efforts.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance system reliability.
• Communicate effectively with other departments and stakeholders regarding project status and operational issues.

• Ability to travel 100% to jobsite locations.
• Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.

Education/Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
• Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in using relevant tools and equipment.
