Duties/Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of substation crews.
- Conduct daily site inspections to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
- Ensure all work is performed safely and in compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Oversee installation, maintenance, and repair of substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, and protective relays.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex HV system issues and provide technical guidance to the team as needed.
- Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to execute project work in alignment with specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections and assessments of substation operations.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on equipment and safety procedures.
- Promote a strong safety culture on-site, enforcing adherence to safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and other regulatory standards.
- Ensure all team members understand and follow lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures for HV systems.
- Conduct regular safety meetings, toolbox talks, and risk assessments to address site hazards and safe work practices.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to plan and execute substation projects.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment status, and inventory.
- Respond to emergency situations and coordinate repair efforts.
- Implement preventive maintenance programs to enhance system reliability.
- Communicate effectively with other departments and stakeholders regarding project status and operational issues.
Requirements
- High level of precision to ensure safety and system reliability.
- Quick and effective troubleshooting of electrical and operational issues.
- Ability to effectively lead crews, assign tasks, and manage timelines.
- Clear verbal and written communication for instructions, reporting, and coordination.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ensures all work adheres to company and regulatory standards.
- Ability to travel 100% to jobsite locations.
- Must have the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience is highly desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using relevant tools and equipment.
