ALL ABOUT GENERAL MERCHANDISE

Experts of store process and efficiency who enable a consistent experience for our guests by ensuring product is set, in‑stock, accurately priced and signed on the sales floor. The General Merchandise and Food Sales team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment and promotional signing processes for all General Merchandise (GM) areas of the store. This team conducts inventory accuracy, merchandise set‑up, maintenance and pricing for all areas of the store.

Experts enable efficient delivery to our guests by supporting pick, packছে and ship fulfillment work.

• Knowledge of guest service fundamentals and experience supporting a guest‑first culture across the store
• Experience in retail business fundamentals, including department sales trends, inventory replenishment, and process efficiency and improvement
• Experience executing daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver on sales goals

As a General Merchandise Expert, no two होंगे are ever the same, but a typical day will most likely include the following responsibilities:

• Create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing your daily tasks.
• When guests need assistance, engage with them in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs.
• Thank guests and let them know we’re happy they chose to shop at Target.
• Execute daily tasks assigned by your leader to help achieve goals that align with business priorities, including receiving products, restocking shelves, organizing the backroom, arranging merchandise and putting up promotional signs for GM areas.
• If certified, operate power equipment to move merchandise or store fixtures.
• Execute processes, including changing prices to products, merchandise set‑up and maintenance, and inventory accuracy as directed by your leader for all areas.
• Learn how operational procedures—such as setting up and organizing merchandise, managing product stock levels and maintaining sales floor—affect inventory management, store profitability, and product availability.
• Be knowledgeable about the resources, products and services available throughout the store and specific to your area to solve guest issues and improve their experience.
• Demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety and compliance.
• Work in a safe manner at all times; comply with all safety policies, best practices and training; report hazards and correct them when possible.
• Support guest services such as back‑up cashier, and digital fulfillment processes (e.g., picking, packing orders or delivering pick‑up orders to guests) while maintaining compliance culture and adhering to adult beverage laws.
• All other duties based on business needs.
