This position is responsible for assuring organizational health, safety, and emergency planning at the facility. It includes implementing facility industrial safety programs and procedures and ensuring the facility remains prepared to respond to any emergency. The role interfaces with employees, managers, external vendors, and governmental agencies and adheres to Urenco values and behaviors.
Education and ExperienceMinimum Qualifications:
Education- Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management, Occupational Safety, Engineering, or a scientific field
- 5-7 years of responsible Health & Safety experience, of which 3 years involve implementing an Emergency Plan at a nuclear facility
- 2 years of management experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree plus a Master’s degree in business or related field
- More than 7 years of Health & Safety experience with at least 3 years implementing an Emergency Plan at a nuclear facility
- 4 or more years of management experience
- Experience at a Part 70 licensee performing an emergency response role
- The work location is Urenco USA, Eunice, NM.
- Work Schedule:
Professional with minimal night/weekend support; some nights/weekends and call-outs as needed. - Travel: 10% of the time or less.
- Security Clearance: L or Q level clearance required; CAA access required.
- Emergency Response: ERO duty may be required; on-call during designated duty weeks (24/7).
- Work Environment:
Radiological exposure considerations apply.
- Manage and implement the Emergency Plan and Emergency Preparedness Program.
- Establish and maintain emergency response facilities, procedures, equipment, and supplies.
- Establish, train, and manage the Emergency Response Organization.
- Develop and maintain relationships with offsite responders.
- Facilitate Emergency Exercises and evaluations.
- Manage and implement the Site Industrial Safety Program.
- Complete oversight and auditing responsibilities.
- Maintain safety programs to meet corporate policies and comply with federal, state, county, and local regulations.
- Implement and manage safety policies to ensure a safe workplace for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Provide team leadership, training, coaching, and mentoring; develop an effective, aligned team with challenging goals.
- Foster positive staff behaviors and manage the Safety & Emergency Response budget.
- As part of the Site Leadership Team, support site and corporate strategies and drive accountability toward key results.
- Serve as Local Process Owner for Safety and align with Group Process Owner.
- In the absence of the Compliance Manager, may serve as Acting Compliance Manager.
- Communicate safety concerns with the Chief Nuclear Officer and CEO, and maintain stop-work authority when needed.

CompensationSalary: starting at $145,308 – $181,635 per year and up, dependent on candidate.
