Summary Of Position
The Information Technology (I.T.) Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in the administration of the overall daily operations of the I.T. department. This includes the design, development, testing, installation, security, and maintenance of all I.T. operations. The incumbent helps to determine the ongoing information services requirements of Santo Domingo Tribe, establishing priorities for systems development and data processing requirements, evaluating hardware and software needs, and taking appropriate measures to protect systems from viruses and cyber-attacks.
Ensures that appropriate project management standards and IT governance processes are utilized and reported for all implementation efforts. Develops and manages budgets, works with departments to provide staffing and equipment necessary to implement required computer operating systems and information services. The Assistant Director will assist in setting up billing and accounts receivable processes for Tribal members receiving IT services. The IT Assistant Director will supervise the IT Infrastructure team and periodically review current systems and methods, reducing costs and/or enhancing efficiency in pursuit of organizational goals for Tribal Programs and the Pueblo as a whole.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in a computer science field preferred, AND 4 years of experience in an IT environment, of which 2 years must have been in a supervisory or managerial position; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Highly technical resource in the IT Data Center and Server management field, with extensive architectural and design experience in building, configuring, installing, monitoring, and supporting IT Data Center infrastructure components in a complex environment.
- Knowledge of Network electronics, configuration, management.
- Knowledge of cabling standards, design review.
- Knowledge of Telecom systems, analog, digital, SIP, Unified Communications.
- Design, installation, service of infrastructure systems.
- Strong process re-engineering skills and focus.
- Knowledge of emerging technology.
- Strong Project Management and Leadership skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Flexible and responsive working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and be insurable through the Santo Domingo Tribe's Liability insurance plan.
- Must pass a background check satisfactorily.
