A Houseperson in the Events/Banquets department plays a crucial role in creating exceptional event experiences for guests. This position is responsible for setting, maintaining, and breaking down event spaces according to hotel standards and event specifications. Housepersons ensure that meeting rooms, ballrooms, and function areas are clean, organized, and fully equipped with tables, chairs, staging, linens, and other event materials. This role requires strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and a commitment to delivering high‑quality service that supports the success of conferences, weddings, meetings, and special events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up event rooms according to Event Orders (EOs), including tables, chairs, staging, dance floors, podiums, and décor items.
  • Break down and reset rooms efficiently after events, ensuring quick turnaround for the next function.
  • Arrange linens, skirting, and table settings as required.
  • Respond to last‑minute event changes or requests with a positive, can‑do attitude.
  • Provide friendly, professional service to guests and event planners.
  • Safely move, lift, and transport event furniture and equipment
  • Ensure equipment is stored properly and kept in good working condition.
  • Ability to read and follow Event Orders (EOs) and room diagrams.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and moving equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with frequent deadlines.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull moderate weight
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
