Location: Bernalillo

Under close supervision, performs various housekeeping and/or personal care support services to Sandoval County clients in a residential environment; provides respite and relief services to caregivers; provides nutrition and homemaker services; and conducts wellness observations of clients to support senior independence and quality of life. Performs other work as required or assigned.

This is a safety-sensitive position subject to random drug testing in accordance with County policy Article XIII Drug and Alcohol Policy and Testing-Drug Free Workplace of the Sandoval County Personnel Rules and Regulation.

Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution.
  • Previous driving experience with a clean driving record for the past year.
  • Experience performing basic office, records/file maintenance, and customer service activities.
  • Experience working with the elderly in a caregiving or senior program setting is preferred but not required.
Required Licenses or

Certifications:
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire.
  • Pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Ability to maintain a valid New Mexico driver's license.
  • May need to obtain a TB Skin Test, First Aid, and CPR certification within a specified period after hire.
  • Must pass a background check applicable to the position.
  • Drives daily to and from seniors' homes.
  • Provides services to meet client needs in a safe, independent home setting.
  • Performs light housekeeping duties including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, laundry, and light cooking; maintains kitchens and bathrooms; may assist with ironing, prescriptions, etc. as needed.
  • Documents activities and any changes affecting the client; reports accidents or sudden changes in condition immediately.
  • Maintains accurate records and logs; assists with client updates and assessments.
  • Attends required training and staff meetings; performs other related duties as assigned.
