Van Zandt Controls and Eagle Automation has an opening for a Board Repair Technician to support the capabilities and success of a strong team in the fast-paced market of New Mexico. Position is based out of our Farmington, NM office. The candidate will perform duties including, but not limited to:
Responsibilities- Repair of circuit boards
- Assist in the design and build of jigs
- Communicate repair timelines to customers
- Inventory management
- Assist in developing board repair operational procedures (e.g., antistatic policies, workstation presentation, cleaning requirements)
- Manage day-to-day workloads assigned
- Assist walk-in customers as needed and develop those relationships
- Effectively communicating with operations and inside support
- Assist in logging boards from customers, entering work tickets and converting tickets into sales orders
- Process the shipment of boards back to customers
- Research and develop new diagnostic procedures for new and existing electronic boards
- Provide on-site troubleshooting and calibration of various measurement devices for customers in the field
- Troubleshoot electronic boards and repair using factory quality components
- Maintain repair facility and equipment ensuring best practices for quality troubleshooting/repair
- Conduct surface mount and through-hole component replacement
- Research and compare components using data sheets to find alternative compatible parts
- Use common electronic equipment to aid troubleshooting: digital multimeter (Fluke), oscilloscope, variable DC power supply, RF generator and receiver, thermal camera
- Read and comprehend detailed electrical schematics
- At least 2+ years of experience as a board repair technician
- Advanced soldering skills required
- Circuit board knowledge and experience
- Previous experience repairing boards in the Oil & Gas industry preferred
