Position: FT Nights Medicine RN; Registered Nurse

Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager/Clinical Coordinator. The Registered Nurse (RN) assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises individual patient care on a nursing unit/department according to unit policies and procedures. Provides supervision of non-RN personnel on the assigned unit. When assuming the charge role, delegates and supervises unit activities. May be required to work on other nursing units based on staffing and patient needs.
Performs other duties as assigned or requested to maintain a high level of service.

Responsibilities
Assesses the patient's physical and psychosocial condition continuously throughout the care process.Develops, communicates, and documents an individualized plan of care involving the patient, family, and healthcare team.Implements and coordinates the plan of care in collaboration with the healthcare team.Evaluates the effectiveness of the plan of care, patient response, and readiness for discharge; revises the plan as needed and makes referrals.Plans and provides education based on assessed learning needs and readiness of the patient and family, documenting outcomes.Functions as a preceptor to new staff.Acts as a charge nurse when assigned.Meets performance expectations in customer service, teamwork, resource utilization, and professional development.Performs other duties as assigned to ensure departmental operations.Demonstrates competency in the care of neuro patients, including assessments, airway management, caring for trached patients, assisting with neuro procedures, and understanding of the 'TIA' teaching program.Performs suctioning procedures and demonstrates skill in equipment use for patients with Halo braces or on ventilators.Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. Proficient in electronic health records and internet research for patient care information.
