Primary FunctionWork successfully under the direction of the Site Coordinator to direct, manage, and oversee a classroom that includes supervision of support staff and students. The Certified Teacher will have a strong depth of knowledge to utilize program resources to implement curriculum and lesson development and enrichment planning and development.
Responsibilities- Assist the Site Coordinator in managing daily operations of the out of school programs and activities at building site, including support staff, student supervision, development of activities, lessons and curriculum, student attendance, snack distribution/counts.
- Ensure that program operations are consistent with District policies, including emergencies, accidents, incidents, and personnel policies.
- Create and foster a high-quality program that implements age-appropriate activities and projects to support the school’s magnet pathway and school day learning.
- Develop and maintain a high level of communication and positive relationships with students, families, principal, teachers, school staff, and program staff at building site.
- Attend professional development, training workshops and staff meetings as necessary; respect cultural diversity and create an inclusive, welcoming, and collaborative environment.
- Submit a daily schedule of enrichment activities to Site Coordinator every 6-8 weeks as directed by Site Coordinator.
- Submit an accurate time sheet bi-weekly on day indicated to the Site Coordinator.
- Assume such other functions as may be determined.
- NLPS Certified Teacher.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products, including strong skills with Word and Excel.
- Experience with out of school programming and activities.
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Terms of Employment: Hourly rate; part-time school year only position
