Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients, and treat acute and chronic illnesses
  • Order, perform and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Involve patients and families in care and treatment decisions
  • Create treatment plans and complete orders in patient charts
  • Collaborate on improvements in care delivery and service with staff, other physicians and management
  • Initiate appropriate specialty referrals
  • Provide clinical information to the interdisciplinary team in a clear and timely manner
  • Ensure proper patient documentation is timely, accurate and complete
  • Work with practice management to ensure compliance with billing, coding and CPT code assignment
  • Achieve and maintain optimal patient access
  • Provide interdepartmental medical consultation as requested
  • Participate in the development of medical protocols, standard procedures and management of patient care workflows
Qualifications
  • Degree of MD or DO with ABIM‑recognized internal medicine residency (three years minimum) or ABFM‑recognized family medicine residency (three years minimum)
Licensure
  • Valid American Board certification in either internal medicine or family medicine and renewed prior to expiration;
    Valid and unrestricted New York medical license; BLS certification;
    Valid DEA registration and Controlled Substance Certificate (or in the process of obtaining)
