PACU Registered Nurse (PACU RN) at Baptist Ambulatory Surgery Center

The PACU Registered Nurse provides continuity and quality nursing care for all patients, with continual evaluation of the patient's condition, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and privacy at all times. The nurse may assist physicians in the procedure rooms with various tasks, conscious sedation, and sterile technique as deemed appropriate. Provides total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation;

conducts assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the patient and family in preparation for discharge.

Responsibilities
  • Provide total comprehensive patient care to patients emerging from general anesthesia and/or sedation, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for discharge readiness.
  • Monitor patient status continually, ensure safety, comfort, and privacy.
  • Assist physicians in procedure rooms with tasks, sedation management, and sterile techniques as appropriate.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited RN School of Nursing
  • Active RN license in the state
  • BLS and ACLS Required, PALS if required by the center
  • 2 years’ experience in PACU or Critical Care preferred
