As a new Pharmacy Technician, you must complete the CVS Pharmacy Technician Training Program and meet all state registration, licensing, and certification requirements. Duties will initially be limited until you satisfy all requirements. Afterward, you can build clinical, technical, and insurance knowledge through available tools and training.

Required Qualifications- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Licensure requirements vary by state
- Attention and Focus – The ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time without distraction
- Customer Service Orientation – Actively look for ways to help people in a friendly manner; notice and understand customer reactions and respond appropriately
- Communication Skills – Use verbal and written communication to interact with customers and colleagues; actively listen, ask questions, and avoid inappropriate interruptions
- Mathematical Reasoning – Use math to solve problems, such as calculating a day's supply of a prescription
- Problem Resolution – Judge when something is wrong, recognize problems, and choose the best course of action when faced with complex situations
- Physical Demands:
- Remain upright on the feet for sustained periods
- Move on foot between work areas during tasks
- Use fingers for picking, pinching, typing, or other tasks
- Extend hands and arms in any direction
- Bend body downward and forward, hinging at the waist
- Stoop to a considerable degree, engaging lower extremities and back muscles
- Express ideas verbally; convey detailed spoken instructions accurately
- Receive detailed information through oral communication at normal speaking levels
- Maintain visual acuity for tasks such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, and inspecting small parts
- Occasionally lift up to 30 lbs or exert up to 30 lbs of force; occasionally lift 10 lbs; frequently exert negligible force to move objects
- Previous experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- PTCB National Certification
High School diploma or equivalent preferred but not required.
